When I was very young, the authority figures in my life told me about Santa Claus. I believed them. Why would I not? The gifts arrived like clockwork, every year. I saw Santas everywhere. The shops were full of Santa merchandise and schools promoted the Santa obsession. One day, I realised that it was all false. The objective of this deception seemed mostly to get the cash registers humming along for a couple of months a year. Even those adults who do not believe in Santa perpetuate the myth.
The Santa myth serves a number of useful purposes. We can see how it benefits the economy. Parents used the Santa myth as a discipline tool, or as a bribe. “Do well at school and we’ll get you a bike for Christmas.” There is a much more insidious motivation to promote Santa. It is a great distraction from the true message of Christmas. “Glory to God in the Highest” has been replaced with “Santa Claus is coming to town”. So the anti-Christ forces have hijacked Christmas for commercial ends. This should surprise no believer. The love of money is indeed the root of all evil.
There is another myth that is perpetuated that has a number of similarities. It has the same objective, to distract and detract from the Kingdom of God. The myth is that of evolution. Even the word evolution has been twisted to suit the prevailing viewpoint of the scientific community. Should an awkward fact arise that casts doubt on the subject, evolutionist twist and turn in an attempt to explain the fact away. What used to be called adaptation, an observable and reasonable explanation of variations within species, is now known simply as evolution. This is conflated with the Darwinian concept of evolution. The unsuspecting victim of this deception is left with the impression that Darwinian evolution is fact.
Again, authority figures impress evolutionary concepts on those who are vulnerable to such deceptions. The truth is frequently suppressed. Scientists who resist the temptation to conform to this deception are often punished. Expressing private doubts publicly can lead to loss of funding and tenure, a form of blackmail for which the scientific community should be ashamed.
What is the motivation behind such a reprehensible suppression of reasoned and logical disagreement? It once again serves two purposes. The primary purpose is to deny the reality of God as the Creator. The secondary purpose is to maintain the funding to research that is in reality pointless. Never get between a scientist and his/her grant.
I am not a scientist. Neither am I a gullible fool. Walt Disney could not have concocted a more fantastic scenario. The more research that is done, the more questions arise and the less plausible evolution becomes. Sorry, Virginia, there is no Santa Claus. And Darwin was wrong.
Not convinced? Nobel prize winner and evolutionist Dr Francis Crick:
“An honest man, armed with all the knowledge available to us now, could only state that, in some sense, the origin of life appears at the moment to be almost a miracle” and, “Every time I write a paper on the origin of life, I determine I will never write another one, because there is too much speculation running after too few facts.”
Dr Crick was almost right. The origin of life is a miracle. There is no other plausible explanation.
